SCHOOL NURSE

Summer Reminders From The CCA Health Office

Medication Pick-Up: If your child had medications stored at school that you forgot to pick up on their final day, they will be held until Friday, June 14th. Please call the main office at 978-535-7100 to schedule medication pick-up. A parent/guardian signature will be required at pick-up. Any medications left at school after that point will be discarded per school policy.

Physical Exams: Updated physical exams are required by the state for students every 3 years, and annually for students who participate in athletics. They are also required annually for students with a life-threatening allergy, or asthma, those with ongoing medical conditions, and for students who require medication administration in school.  If your child has a physical exam over the summer, please remember to upload it to your Magnus account.

Vaccinations: Additionally, there are state vaccine requirements for students within a certain grade, for which the school completes a required survey annually. If your child is entering Pre-K, Kindergarten, 7th, or 12th grade in the fall, please be sure to discuss vaccinations with your child’s pediatrician to make sure they meet the requirements. For those who have a medical or religious exemption for immunizations, it needs to be renewed annually and submitted through Magnus.

Magnus Health: Beginning August 1st, all families will be required to log into their Magnus accounts to confirm and update student health information for the 2024-2025 school year. This includes providing annual permissions for over-the-counter medications at school and submitting action plans for students with life-threatening allergies or asthma. Please watch for updates and reminders emailed from the CCA health office during the summer months.

If you have any questions, please email me at school.nurse@ccamail.org.  Be safe, stay healthy, and have a wonderful summer!

Summer Service Opportunities on the North Shore

The summer months can be extremely challenging for families and individuals who are food insecure. Many students rely on schools for their breakfast and lunch and with grocery prices at current levels, food pantries are being utilized more than ever. Consequently, the shelves are empty more often. Please consider helping one of these North Shore organizations, some of which Covenant has previously served. Every bit helps.
