General Scholarships

The Covenant Christian Academy General Scholarship Fund is designed to provide financial assistance to students whose families may not be able to afford full tuition, allowing them to benefit from a classical Christian education. This scholarship fund makes a Covenant education accessible to a broader range of students, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent children from receiving a well-rounded education that fosters intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth.

Play For Jade

Nine years ago, the Covenant community experienced the devastating loss of one of our precious students. Adored by her teachers and classmates alike, Jade Williamson was full of life and joy as she prepared to begin kindergarten in the fall of 2016. A sudden illness, just shy of her 5th birthday, tragically took Jade’s life and left her family and loved ones shattered. Our community grieved with the Williamsons, prayed together, and celebrated Jade’s life while promising never to forget her beautiful spirit. Jade was a gift to us all, and we will always join Adam, Jenny, and Jacob (Gr.11) in keeping her memory alive. God has been faithful and true, and the Williamson family will attest to the many ways that God has used this tragedy, bringing beauty out of ashes. If you have never had the chance, we encourage you to visit Jade’s Garden, a beautifully renovated memorial courtyard on the school’s grounds for our Early Childhood students.

Shortly after Jade’s passing, Jenny and Adam established the Jade A. Williamson Memorial Scholarship in Jade’s honor, and in 2021, CCA began what will continue to be an annual tradition of “Playing for Jade” at our Varsity Homecoming games each fall.

Team Tyler

In July of 2024, the Covenant Community suffered the devastating loss of cherished student Tyler Simoes. Having just completed his seventh-grade year, Tyler was a vibrant example of everything CCA aspires to cultivate in our students. At just 13 years of age, Tyler truly embodied the virtues we hope to see in our graduates. He was bright, tenacious, compassionate, humble, and full of joy, even as he endured a multi-year battle with RAC2, a genetic disease resulting in autoimmunity and immune dysfunction. Fondly referred to as Team Tyler, Tyler’s countless friends and family joined forces in constant prayer and support. Cherished friend, classmate, and student, Tyler will be missed beyond measure by the many who loved him deeply.

Our community stands united in mourning the loss of Tyler, beloved son of Danielle and Fabio, and sister to CCA graduate Yasmin (’17). Together, we have prayed, shared our sorrow, and honored Tyler’s vibrant spirit. He was a precious gift to us all, and we will forever support the Simoes Family in cherishing his memory. From this tragedy, we have witnessed the faithfulness of God, who we know will bring hope and beauty from our heartache.

Play For Jade and Team Tyler

The Williamsons and the Simoes families have shared a deep friendship ever since Jade and Tyler first became classmates in Preschool. The CCA community takes comfort in knowing that Jade and Tyler are now together in Heaven, rejoicing in the eternal joy of Christ.

Beginning in 2024, with the blessing of both families, we will honor their memory at Homecoming by Playing for Jade and Team Tyler—raising funds for the Jade A. Williamson and Tyler Luiz Simoes Memorial Scholarship Fund.

All proceeds from the sale of Homecoming 2025 t-shirts and sweatshirts, “Play for Jade” and “Team Tyler” wristbands, and concessions, as well as Covenant stuffed cougars, stickers, magnets, water bottles, and travel mugs sold at our Homecoming games will go directly to the Fund, with a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10,000.

Each year, the Jade A. Williamson and Tyler Luiz Simoes Memorial Scholarship Fund blesses one current Upper School female student and one current Upper School male student who, like Jade and Tyler, exemplify a love for Jesus and a genuine appreciation for a Covenant education. Following is a testimonial from the parent of a previous scholarship recipient:

In a challenging culture with pressures all around, it’s great to partner with a Christ-centered school. Our son is growing in grace and the fruit of the Spirit, and his Christian friends, coaches, and teachers encourage him to walk with Christ.

We invite our entire community to join us in celebrating the beautiful legacy of Jade and Tyler.
