Alumni News

Updates

Daeven Goel ’22 is in his sophomore year at the University of Rhode Island double majoring in electrical engineering and German. He was just elected president (unusual as a sophomore) of his fraternity Tau Epsilon Phi ΤΕΦ.  He has also just accepted the highly coveted position of URI tour guide! Finally, he’s playing intramural soccer and they went undefeated, winning the championship at the end of the season. Living his best life!

Riyan Goel ’23 just wrapped up his first semester at UMass Amherst Honors College and made the Dean’s list! He is a Biology major intending on going to med school. He is loving UMass Amherst and has made some phenomenal, lifelong friends.

Both boys are planning on studying in Norway this summer.

It’s such a joy and a blessing to see our kids, loving life, being happy, and doing so well.

~ Linda Braje

Adam Farris (Class of ‘20) had a paper published in Noetica, William & Mary’s Journal of Global Premodern Studies! This journal is published each May and takes submissions from students at colleges and universities across the globe and is reserved only for undergraduates. Adam says that the whole paper was formatted according to the classical style that he learned in Mr. Miller’s “Classical Literature” class back in 2016. He says that he refers more often to the resources he received at CCA for collegiate writing than the ones he is currently provided.

The title of the paper is “Hope from the Ashes: An Economic and Political Analysis of how the Black Death in Britain Benefitted Serfs and the Working Class,” and combines economic theory with history to determine if many of the problems in Britain’s labor force today, such as the constant union strikes and breakdown of many industries, can be straight-lined back to worker sentiments and early labor laws from the post-Black Death era.

Adam will be graduating from the College of William and Mary this year with a B.A. in Economics and a Finance minor.

Congratulations, Adam!

Engagements and Weddings

Peter Grifoni (class of 2017) and Anastasia Lukens were engaged at Christmas time. They’re gearing up for the most exciting chapter yet as they prepare to tie the knot this August! But that’s not all–Peter is on the brink of an incredible achievement, finishing his final year of Law School at Boston University and set to graduate in May. Best wishes, Peter, on a year of unforgettable milestones!

Jacob Sims (class of 2019) proposed to his girlfriend, Lilli, over the weekend at the Newburyport Rear Range Lighthouse. The couple was first introduced by another CCA alum, Aria Heil (class of 2019). Jacob surprised Lilli with a breakfast reservation at the lighthouse on Saturday and two of her friends were on a nearby rooftop taking pictures. Congratulations Jacob!

CCA Student Couple Engaged

Congratulations to Zeke Ostrowski and Rilee Smith (both class of 2021) who recently got engaged! They are CCA’s first student couple to be engaged. Both Zeke and Rilee are current students at Grove City College and are getting married this July. Logic School science teacher Ms. Oliver says she predicted this when they were in 6th grade!
