GENERAL NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome Back Open House and Ice Cream Social Photos

We were thrilled to have you join us as we welcomed students and families back on campus last week for our Welcome Back Open Houses and Ice Cream Socials.

A Note From the Head of School

Thank you to all the parents who responded to our Parent Survey in the spring. We received a remarkable 144 replies out of 179 families with the responses being overwhelmingly positive. We’re grateful for all of your feedback and will use the survey results to inform decisions as we seek to better serve our students and our families.

Along these lines, and to help Covenant further its mission for His Kingdom, would you take 2-3 minutes to leave a review of your Covenant experiences on Niche.com? Niche.com is the market leader in connecting colleges and schools with students and families. Reviews are critical for helping new families discover our school and understand what it’s “really” like from the perspective of parents and students.

Here a few helpful tips for a strong review:

  • It doesn’t need to be long—2-3 sentences is plenty!
  • Be specific about your role in our community (e.g., parent/caregiver, grade, how many years you’ve been part of the community, etc.)
  • Share your own personal experience interacting with teachers and staff members
  • Write about your child’s experience in and out of the classroom or personal/social/spiritual growth
  • Describe the Covenant community/culture

That’s it! And as an added bonus, you’ll also be entered to win $1,000 from Niche for sharing your family’s story.

Parent ProTech

Last spring we provided you with an opportunity to become more fully educated on the technology that has become such an influential part of most students’ lives through our partnership with Parent ProTech. The Parent ProTech platform and newsletter are now available to all CCA parents. Those who would like to take advantage of this outstanding resource can do so by registering using this link:  Parent ProTech Registration.

In addition you can view the Parent ProTech introductory video from last spring by clicking here

On Thursday evening, October 3rd at 7:00 pm, Parent ProTech professionals will present a workshop for parents on safe technology use for children and adolescents onsite at CCA! Please mark your calendars and save the date for this informative and education presentation.

BUSINESS OFFICE

This year all charges (tuition and incidentals) and payments will be done through FACTS. You will receive an email when a charge has been added to your FACTS account. That same email will note the date the payment will be pulled from the bank account (or credit card) that is linked to your FACTS account.

Please be aware that the 2-3% service fee incurred by using a credit card is passed on to you. Using a debit card will also incur a fee that is passed onto you, so it is better for you to enter your bank account information as a payment option instead of your debit card number.

If you need to make a date change for a payment to be pulled from your account, please log into your FACTS account to make that change. You can change the date to another day within that same month, but you can only make one change per month.

If you need to make additional changes, or if you have any questions, please contact Rita Detwiler in the Business Office at rita.detwiler@ccamail.org.

GRAMMAR SCHOOL

Grammar School Field Trip T-shirts

Orders Due: Friday, September 20th

Grammar School students wear a special bright yellow T-shirt on all field trips to visibly designate the group, allowing chaperones to identify Covenant students quickly. Many returning students may have a Field Trip T-shirt that still fits but we are asking all students who need one to be sure and order a Field Trip shirt. We strongly suggest ordering up a size so you can get multiple years of use!

Click here for size chart and to place your order.

Before-Care and After-Care

Before-Care

Before-Care will be offered in the cafeteria, providing passive supervision for students in Grades K-8 starting at 7:15 am daily. We ask that this program be reserved for students requiring, not preferring, an early drop-off. GS students arriving prior to 7:50 am must be escorted by a parent to the cafeteria through the cafeteria courtyard doors. It is important for parents of young children to understand that this is a wide-ranging age group and may not be comfortable or appropriate for children requiring closer supervision. There is no charge for this program.

After-Care

After-Care for students aged PK 4-year-olds (in 3- and 5-day programs only) – Grade 6 will be provided from 3:00–5:30 pm daily on a registration only basis. As has always been our policy, the program is open only to students ages 4 (by Sept. 1st) and older.

After-Care is reserved for and limited to students requiring care due to working parents, not those simply preferring a later pick-up or for socialization and convenience.  Enrollment is unfortunately very limited due to staffing and space challenges, and registration is on a first come, first served basis, with priority given to faculty children which allows our faculty to serve your students after school dismissal.

Please contact our Director of After-Care Sage Paik at sage.paik@ccamail.org to inquire about availability.

Any questions regarding payment and After-Care tuition can be directed to our CFO, Jessica Rossotti jessica.rossotti@ccamail.org

FINE ARTS

Grammar School Musical, Imagine A Dragon!

We are excited to announce our Grammar School Musical, Imagine A Dragon!

The dragon is back in town! Well… not really. That’s the story a ragtag band of innkeepers makes up, desperate to draw questing heroes to the struggling Dancing Dragon Inn. Soon the inn is full of unexpected guests, from an army of princesses out to prove their bravery, to a group of overwhelmed heroes trying to hold onto their fame. But what happens if they all discover the innkeepers’ dragon story is made up? Could there be more than one way to save the day? Students in grades 3-6 are eligible to participate in the Grammar School Musical.

Auditions will be held on:

MEET OUR TEAM

Join us in welcoming CCA’s Facilities Manager, Bob Mulvey!

Bob joined the CCA Team in January as our new Facilities Manager and came to us with extensive property management experience and expertise. Bob is a former electrical contractor serving both residential and commercial clients, as well as most recently an instructor at Minuteman Tech. Bob is a man of deep faith and has a wonderful servant heart. You can find Bob in the Facilities office space back in the new Logic School wing. Please stop by and say hello!

What will your role be here, and what are you most excited about? Facilities Manager

Can you tell us a bit about your background and previous experience? I have been a licensed electrician for over thirty years. For ten of those years, I owned and operated my own Electrical Contracting Business. I also spent the last five years before my tenure at CCA teaching Electrical wiring at Minuteman Vocational High School in Lexington, MA.

What drew you to join CCA? The opportunity to bring my talents and passion to a Christian workplace and to be with like-minded believers.

What are you most looking forward to this school year? Getting to know everyone on a

deeper level and sharing our journeys of faith together.

Favorite food: Italian food

Favorite book: Toss up between “Mere Christianity” by CS Lewis and “Bonhoeffer Pastor,

Martyr, Prophet, Spy”

Favorite Bible verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” -Philippians 4:13

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work? Going to the gym and on adventures with my favorite people, my family.

Share a fun or unique fact about yourself: I once performed in the Barnum and Bailey Circus.

If you were to participate in the USLR Lip Sync Battle, which song would you sing? “Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That”

If you were to participate in the GS Star Wars dress-down day, which character would you be? Luke Skywalker for sure

Is there anything you’d like to say to the community as you start your journey here?

I have a tendency to always be in a rush but I am never too busy to pray for or with anyone in need, or to share a word of encouragement.

We’re glad you’re here, Bob!

Wes, a worship leader and college ministry director at a local church, and Laura are thrilled to continue their journey with the CCA community for another year.

Congratulations to the Spragues on their new beginning!
