CCA is Hiring: Facilities Manager and a part-time Main Office ManagerThe Covenant community has always been at the heart of the school’s success, and many of our hires come from within our Covenant community! Your referrals have been instrumental in bringing the right people into our school, and we would be so grateful for your help as we search for the right candidates to serve two open positions: Facilities Manager and a part-time Main Office Manager at CCA.
We’re seeking individuals who embody our cherished values: a mature Christian faith, a passion for service, and exceptional relationship-building skills. If you know someone who fits either of these descriptions, please point them in our direction and have them apply here. |
School Picture Retake DayTuesday, November 28th Retake day is for new students and staff members, transfer students, anyone who may have missed the initial picture day, and anyone unhappy with their original picture. If a student would like the retake photo to replace the original photo, please have the student return the original picture package to the photographer on picture day. We will replace the original package at no additional cost. |
Project Bethlehem
Since opening its doors as an emergency shelter in 1983, Lazarus House Ministries has been serving people struggling with poverty from its base in Lawrence, Massachusetts, one of the poorest cities in New England. Project Bethlehem is Lazarus House’s annual Christmas-giving program, and CCA is partnering with Lazarus House again this year to provide gift cards and presents for four families in need.

Breakfast is Served!
Faculty and Staff were treated to a full breakfast on Tuesday by Head of School David Anastasi as a token of his gratitude for their service to CCA. They were able to enjoy words of gratitude while they ate that were written by parents on a table runner.

Parent-Teacher ConferencesDear Grammar School Parents: Teachers and Administrators are looking forward to seeing you on Friday, December 8th, for our annual parent-teacher conferences. We will be scheduling conferences throughout the day beginning at 8:00am and all conferences will be in-person at Covenant. We are providing you with plenty of notice as we recognize that some may need to secure time off from work. These conferences are a required check-in at this point in the school year. If you are unable to make an in-person conference work on this day, please contact your child’s classroom teacher to make alternate arrangements. This year we will once again be using an online registration sign up program called PTCFast. Remember: there is no school for students on this day (Friday, December 9th).
Registration will be open at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27th and will remain open through Wednesday, December 6th. Parents will use our online conference scheduler (PTCFast) to choose conference times. I believe you will find this scheduler to be user-friendly. If you have difficulty scheduling your conferences or need to schedule a conference after December 6th, please contact Lisa Coleman at lisa.coleman@ccamail.org . Parents of students in grades 5 and 6 MUST sign up for a 10 minute conference with each grade level teacher (Rebecca Clifford and Amy Prichard for Grade 5, Brooke Baker and Kelly Christensen for Grade 6). All other teachers will be offering 20 minute conferences. Instructions for using PTCFast:

This Week in Grammar School:
PreK: Mrs. Tammaro’s Preschool and PreK classes celebrated the Thanksgiving season by making homemade apple pies for family and friends. They also made a few extra as gifts and hand-delivered them to Mr. Anastasi, Mrs. Bergstrom and Mrs. Ashley to show their great appreciation for all they do. Happy Thanksgiving from the Preschool and PreK students!
Kindergarten:
Thankful Chapel: Kindergarten hosted a Thankful Chapel last week. Parents were invited to attend as these brave students stood in front of the audience to share something they were thankful for and to sing a song of gratitude.
Friendsgiving: Kindergarten students also celebrated a Friendsgiving on Tuesday with their teachers and friends.
First Grade Library: The first graders earned their Library Fun Day and to celebrate, they made homemade butter just like the Pilgrims! They tasted it on crackers and all gave it a “thumbs up”!

Second Grade:
Letters of gratitude: Second graders wrote 132 thank you notes of gratitude to faculty and staff members–a new record number of letters!
Family Turkey Project: Second graders worked hard to create their turkeys of gratitude for CCA’s 15th annual Family Turkey Project!
Third Grade: Parents visited the 3rd grade classrooms to celebrate student accomplishments and watch them present. We are thankful for the support of 3rd grade parents and the community of CCA.
Foundations and Bookwork Bunch
This Week in Upper School:
Seventh Grade: In small groups, seventh graders finished their study of “Penny From Heaven” by creating a fictional story drawing on the real-life experiences of each group member. They performed their stories in 1950s fashion, putting on radio shows. They did a great job!
Eighth Grade: When life puts you in a locker, just make sure to bring snacks and a good book!
|
Rhetoric School: Students wrote the things and people that they are thankful for on this board in Mrs. Nwokogba’s class. |
PreCalculus: Precalculus students hunted around the building for who stole Mrs. Nwokogba’s [trig] identity. They went from room to room simplifying trigonometric expressions using trig identities in order to find the suspect.
Women in STEM: The 2nd Annual Women in STEMsgiving was a success! Thank you to our Women in STEM founder & president, Isabella DeCotis, and her lovely mom for organizing this delicious event. CCA Women in STEM is a club open to all students who support women interested in and working in STEM.
