GENERAL NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Project Bethlehem

Thank you to all who so generously contributed to Project Bethlehem. We know that your generosity brought joy to four deserving families in need this Christmas. Thank you also to all the parents who joined the Parent Connection wrapping party and delivered the gifts to Lawrence. We are so grateful for your time and efforts.

Save the Date for CCA’s International Festival on Friday, January 26th!

We are looking forward to hosting CCA’s largest celebration of the many cultures and traditions represented within our incredible Covenant community! Join us for an evening of food, fun, and celebration in the PAAC from 6-8 pm.

The International Festival is an evening where families can represent their heritage and culture by sharing food, drinks, art, music, decorations, etc., with the CCA community. We will line the PAAC with tables from different countries and have an open house atmosphere where you can walk around to sample different food, talk with parents and students, and learn about different cultures that make up our incredible CCA community.

If you are interested in being part of a table and providing some food to share, please sign up here. If you have any questions or ideas, please contact the Global Community Council Student Prefect William at william.wei.2024@ccamail.org.

GRAMMAR SCHOOL

This Week in Grammar School:

3rd Grade Chapel:

The Third Grade Class presented the Christmas Story during Chapel this past Thursday morning. They worked diligently to prepare for their presentation: learning individual parts, when to come out to perform and learning lyrics to familiar Christmas carols, and it all paid off as their performance was flawless! Their message of a Savior being born in Bethlehem came through with excitement and joy! Great job students!

PreK and Kindergarten Christmas Pajama Day:

PreK and Kindergarten classes enjoyed being comfy and cozy in Christmas pajamas. Mrs. Tammaro’s preschool class had a special visit with Miss Jill and Radar in their matching Christmas sweaters.

Library:

The Kindergarteners’ gingerbread men went missing and they sent their Kindergarten friends on a hunt to go find them. The students had to follow clues that led them around the building until they found their gingerbread men in Mrs. Favini’s classroom with a special sweet treat!

Mrs. Pawlyk to Coordinate New GS Afterschool Singing Club!

Mrs. Pawlyk will offer a six-week “Singing Club” to boys and girls in grades 2-6. Sessions will take place once a week from January through February. Students will enjoy working on songs of their choice and some duet or group songs while learning more about stage presence and performance techniques.

Space will be limited!  Click here to register.

Deck the Halls

USLR students had fun “Decking the Halls” – each grade was given a hallway and a theme (Winter Wonderland, Elf on the Shelf, Polar Express, Gingerbread House, Baby Shower for Jesus, and Santa’s Workshop), then votes were cast by grammar school teachers and students.

Living the Christian Faith in the Real World Series

The Prefect Program is our student senior leadership group charged with overseeing critical areas of student life at CCA. Prefects have been reading and discussing Lead Like Jesus Revisited by Ken Blanchard during lunch on Thursdays during the fall. We want to invite our community members who serve in leadership roles to join one of our lunch discussions to talk about living out the Christian faith in the real world. If you would like to invest your experience and tell your story to an engaging group of students, please send an email to Jim MacDonald at jim.macdonald@ccamail.org, and we will try to arrange for you to join us.
