Family Referral Incentive Program
Covenant has a Family Referral Incentive Program to both incentivize and reward CCA parents and employees who help us welcome mission-aligned families to our community. Our parents, students, and employees are our best ambassadors, sharing their positive experiences at Covenant with friends, family, and acquaintances.
Current CCA families, as well as faculty and staff members, can receive a $500 referral bonus for each new family that they refer (who then applies to CCA, is accepted, and enrolls for the 2025–2026 school year). The Family Referral Program does not apply to immediate family members or persons living in the same household.
While many grade levels have already reached capacity for next year, we do have limited openings still available. Contact the Office of Admissions: admissions@ccamail.org or click here for more info. |

Covenant Commentaries: Spiritual Discernment
School Chaplain, Jason Lawrenz provided a thought-provoking commentary on Spiritual Discernment last week. He discussed the crucial role of spiritual discernment in navigating public discourse, especially in today’s polarized and noisy world. He encourages us to seek wisdom through prayer and Scripture, and to practice humility, ensuring that our words and the voices to which we give space in our minds reflect truth, love, and the character of Christ. This is an especially relevant topic to share with our children who might not be able to interpret public commentary accurately.

CCA’s First Personal Defense Seminar
Our first CCA Personal Defense Seminar was a success! Thanks to Parker, aunt to first grader Colton M. and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu blue belt, for volunteering to help teach. And thanks to our own USLR teacher, Mr. Sutherland, for his phenomenal acting! With their help, Mr. Ulrich provided quality instruction by introducing six upper school girls to fundamental and practical martial arts techniques, decision-making, and knowledge. The attendees proved to be enthusiastic participants.
The instructors walked the girls through break falls, grip breaks, up-kicks, countering a hair-pull attack, athletic movement, verbal judo, and safely absorbing punches. In two hours, the group progressed to interactive role-playing scenarios set up around a (staged) minor traffic collision with road-raging—“Angry Steve!” By the end, the girls exhibited good decisions and avoidance strategies and demonstrated the techniques they had learned.
Students and instructors alike enjoyed this valuable learning opportunity! We plan to make this a recurring activity for female USLR students, faculty, and staff who wanted to attend but were unavailable. We will keep you posted.

The warmer weather is finally here, and students will be able to enjoy more time outside during the school day.
As is common for this time of year, we are starting to see an increase in students suffering from seasonal allergies. If your child has a history of seasonal allergies, please consult your child’s pediatrician and consider giving them an over-the-counter antihistamine at home if indicated. Please note we do not have allergy medications like Claritin or Zyrtec at school, and can’t give any medication without a doctor’s order.
Also, we encourage you to consider applying sunscreen to your child in the morning before school each day. For those students whose classes spend time in the back field for gym or recess, you may also want to consider applying bug spray as well. Please do not send sunscreen or bug spray with your child to school, as we are not permitted to apply it. |
Join Us for our Annual Post-Field Day Family Picnic!
Cosmic Bowling

May the Fourth Be With You: Star Wars Dress-Down Day
Second Grade Explores Salem by Trolley
The second grade recently took a field trip on the Salem Trolley to explore the rich history of Salem. The experience served as a fun and informative recap of their Massachusetts History unit. Students had the opportunity to see firsthand many of the places they had studied, while also discovering new and interesting facts about the city’s past.
Fourth Grade Visits Hammond Castle
The fourth grade took a fascinating field trip to Hammond Castle, where students explored the unique architecture and history of this medieval-style home. The trip was both an educational and inspiring way to wrap up their Middle Ages unit.

One Week to Save a Life at CCAMonday, May 12th–Friday, May 16th
One Week to Save a Life is a school-wide partnership with the American Heart Association to help students learn real-world, lifesaving skills and make a meaningful impact in our community.
Throughout the week, students will be encouraged to:
By participating, students can also earn up to 8 service-learning hours—a great opportunity for those involved in student-led organizations or seeking volunteer credit. We encourage families to get involved by learning Hands-Only CPR at home. Since 90% of cardiac arrests happen outside of a hospital—where only 10% survive— knowing CPR can triple someone’s chance of survival. Together, we can empower our students with the skills to save a life.
To learn more or donate to support our school’s efforts, click here to visit our fundraising page.
Thank you for supporting our students, our school, and this lifesaving mission!

Varsity Ultimate Frisbee
Friday, May 2nd:
Friday afternoon brought a fantastic game against Waring, with many CCA supporters turning out to cheer on the team. Though Waring took an early lead as CCA tested out a new zone defense, the team quickly regrouped. After tying the score, CCA surged ahead to an 8–4 lead at halftime. The second half provided an opportunity to experiment with new lineups and give valuable playing time to younger and newer players. Notable highlights included Maggie Allinder scoring her first goal of the season, and new junior Jacob Williamson making a strong debut with both a goal and an assist. Clayton Adams also made a solid contribution despite recovering from an ankle injury earlier in the week. Mikey Graves (5 goals) and Sam Batten (4 goals) led the scoring effort, with Simeon Yen providing the majority of the assists. A special shout-out goes to Hannah Jacobson, who brought popsicles for the team post-game—earning her the unofficial “Best Planner” award!
Wednesday, May 7th:
CCA faced a tough loss at Commonwealth despite a strong start. The team built an early lead and entered halftime ahead 8–4. However, Commonwealth adjusted their defensive strategy in the second half, and despite CCA’s efforts, they weren’t able to make enough offensive adjustments to hold onto the lead—ultimately falling late in the game. There were still many standout moments worth celebrating. Sam Batten made a spectacular in-air play, leaping to tap the disc back in-bounds. Evie Crowell delivered a clutch defensive stop with a mid-field block, and Clayton Adams caught his first goal of the season on an assist from Anthony Kierstead, also his first assist of the year. Kaden Lewis made a memorable diving catch in the end zone. Simeon Yen and Mikey Graves led the offensive charge, combining for 7 of the team’s 11 assists. Tristan Vieira had a well-rounded performance with 3 goals and 2 assists, while Jacob Williamson added 2 goals and valuable speed on the field.
Laura Shines at State Gymnastics Meet!
This past Saturday, May 3rd, the State Gymnastics Meet took place at the Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington, and sixth-grader Laura S., competing with the Excel Silver team, delivered an outstanding performance! She earned 1st place on Bars and Beam, took 4th on Vault, and finished with an impressive 2nd place All-Around. Congratulations to Laura for her hard work, focus, and excellence!
CCA Athletes Compete at Mohegan Sun Volleyball Tournament
This weekend, three CCA athletes took the court at the Mohegan Sun volleyball tournament, showcasing skill, grit, and teamwork! Sophomore Leanna Rothier and her teammates came out on top as 16 Power Champions—an incredible achievement! 8th graders Alex and Chloe battled hard in the 14’s Silver Bracket, advancing to the quarterfinals before a tough loss. We’re so proud of all three girls for representing CCA with determination and heart!
