Our last Covenant Commentary, Preventing Summer Slide: How Parents Can Help Their Children Maintain Academic Progress Over the Summer Vacation, will be held on Friday, May 31st during the Covenant Parent Connection meeting at 8:45 am.
This commentary will target elementary-aged learners.
Summer can sometimes bring a dip in academic progress for elementary students, known as the “summer slide.” However, parents can play a crucial role in keeping their kids academically engaged and advancing during these months. Grammar School Principal Andrea Bergstrom will explain how simple activities like reading together, exploring educational projects, or even incorporating learning into everyday tasks like cooking or gardening can make a big difference. Join us to hear about and share suggestions for staying proactive and making learning fun to help prevent the summer slide and ensure your child starts the new school year on the right foot.
This session will be recorded for those who cannot attend.

Parents in Prayer is a fellowship led by CCA parent Pastor Charles Rukwaro and is open to all CCA parents. We gather once a month (the first Wednesday of each month in the faculty/staff lounge following morning drop-off) to pray for our community and nation’s health, safety, wisdom, and leadership. You are welcome to join us! Our final prayer meeting for this school year is Wednesday, June 5th, at 8:15 am. Dig In and Grow Together: Join the Classical Roots Summer Program for Gardening Fun!Fridays During the Summer | 10:00 am–12:00 pm | CCA Vegetable Garden and Orchard
There are still spots open for families who want to get their hands dirty this summer! Classical Roots Program is looking for CCA families to help with weeding, watering, and harvesting in our school vegetable garden and orchard each Friday during the summer.
Sessions run from 10:00 am to around 12:00 pm.

Family Referral Incentive Program
Covenant experienced its 11th consecutive year of record enrollment in the 2023-2024 school year! God continues to bless CCA, and we are always seeking to welcome mission-aligned families to our community.
We have a Family Referral Incentive Program to both incentivize and reward CCA parents and employees. Our parents, students, and employees are our best ambassadors, sharing their positive experiences at Covenant with friends, family, and acquaintances.
Current CCA families, as well as faculty and staff members, can receive a $500 referral bonus for each new family that they refer (who then applies to CCA, is accepted, and enrolls for the 2024/25 school year). The Family Referral Program does not apply to immediate family members or persons living in the same household.
While many grade levels have already reached capacity for next year, we do have space open in some grades such as Pre-K and Kindergarten. Please contact Admissions for more details: admissions@ccamail.org.

Student Medication ReturnsIf your student had medication stored in the school health office this year (i.e. EpiPens, inhalers, oral medication, etc.), it will be returned on your student’s final day of school. All medications must be received by a parent or guardian, and a signature will be required.
The school nurse will have a table inside the PAAC lobby for returning medications:
Thursday, June 6th- grades 7 through 12 ONLY 9:15 am to 9:45 am (before USLR awards ceremony) 11:00 am to 11:30 am (after USLR awards ceremony)
Friday, June 7th- grades K through 12 8:15 am to 8:45 am (before GS awards ceremony) 10:30 am to 11:00 am (after GS awards ceremony)
PreSchool and Pre-K parents will receive medications at their student’s classrooms on their final day of school. If you forget to pick up your child’s medication or are unable to pick it up on the final day of school, medications will be held for one week only. Please call the main office at 978-535-7100 to schedule a pick-up for the week of June 10th-14th. Any medications left at school after that time will be discarded per school policy. Please email school.nurse@ccamail.org if you have any questions. |

Another epic Grammar School Field Day in the books! From sack races to relay races, a bouncy house, and face painting, Grammar School students brought their A-game and showed off their competitive spirit. Thanks to all the parents, staff, Upper School student volunteers, Mr. Lawrenz, and all our GS teachers for making the day such a success! The day was topped off with a family picnic on the front lawn with a special visit from the ice cream truck. Laughter, teamwork, and memories made under the sun – that’s what it’s all about!

Rising 2nd-6th Grade Orton-Gillingham Tutoring: Orton-Gillingham is an approach to phonics that compliments the CCA curriculum. These tutoring hours are reserved for students who are not meeting year-end literacy benchmarks. Research has shown that students who receive remedial tutoring can avoid the summer slide. Click here.

Girl’s Running Club Conquers the Melody Miles 5K with Family and Medal Winners
The Grammar School Girl’s Running Club gathered to run the Melody Miles 5K in Hamilton over the weekend. Family members also joined in and two of them earned medals for their age groups: Sarah B. (1st grade) and Jack N. (4th grade). Congratulations, runners!

Coda Trip: Seniors’ Making Memories in Cape Cod
The seniors took off to Cape Cod on Tuesday morning for their Coda trip with Mr. Miller, Mrs. Kline, and Ms. Johnson. They had beautiful weather their first two days where they experienced the Cape Cod Heritage Museum and Gardens, biked along the Cape Cod Rail trail, had fun at Mayflower Beach, ate lots of delicious food, and hung out by the campfire. They are staying at a big house on the green end of a peninsula that looks out over a salt river towards dunes and finally the sea. What a great time for them to pause and reflect together on their time here at CCA.

Designed to help students develop and sharpen the mathematical tools needed to identify, represent, and solve problems, justify conclusions, and apply mathematics to practical situations. - Rhetoric Primer
Required for any new 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students
September 3rd | 12:00–2:00 pm | Lunch is provided and there is no cost.
This 2-hour workshop taught by CCA teachers takes place after school on the first day of school (which is a half day). This workshop seeks to introduce an overview of both language and concepts covered in earlier Logic and Rhetoric classes at CCA (between grades 7 and 10). - College Application Bootcamp

A Spectacular Showcase: Grammar School and USLR Fine Arts Students Shine at Spring Concerts!
Amazing Spring Concert performances were held last week by all of our Grammar School and USLR Fine Arts students! They showed a tremendous display of talent which is a testament to the mentoring and leadership of our Fine Arts department. Special thanks to all of our music teachers and students for two wonderful concerts! We were able to celebrate God’s creation through singing and playing, finishing Thursday’s concert with powerful worship from our USLR worship team.
