GENERAL NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Family Referral Incentive Program

Covenant has a Family Referral Incentive Program to both incentivize and reward CCA parents and employees who help us welcome mission-aligned families to our community. Our parents, students, and employees are our best ambassadors, sharing their positive experiences at Covenant with friends, family, and acquaintances.

Current CCA families, as well as faculty and staff members, can receive a $500 referral bonus for each new family that they refer (who then applies to CCA, is accepted, and enrolls for the 2025–2026 school year). The Family Referral Program does not apply to immediate family members or persons living in the same household.

While many grade levels have already reached capacity, we do have limited openings still available for the 2025-2026 school year. Contact the Office of Admissions: admissions@ccamail.org or click here for more info.

Claim Your Lost Items!

The Lost and Found has been carefully organized and arranged on tables and hanging racks in the PAAC hallway for your convenience. Please stop by to claim your items! Outerwear, water bottles, lunch boxes, shoes and other treasures galore… It’s amazing what you might find!

Unclaimed items will be sent to the Uniform Swap or donated to charity after the last day of school.

Rhetoric School: Last Chapel

Each May, the senior class selects one member of the faculty to give the final chapel talk of the year in the Rhetoric School: the Distinguished Faculty Address. The class of 2025 selected Mrs. Dawn Corbin, who delivered her address last Wednesday, May 21st with worship led by seniors Colin Moll, Nick DeJesus, Evie Hammond, and Alexandra Pintone. Using the metaphor of cultivating a garden, Mrs. Corbin called the students to consider how their daily choices and habits could lead them to experience a full and flourishing life. Drawing from Ephesians 5:15-17, Mrs. Corbin then offered the students four choices to make each day: to walk carefully, to live wisely, to redeem the time, and to understand the Lord’s will. Thank you, Mrs. Corbin, for such a timely and encouraging word!

Logic School: Last Chapel

We held our last Logic School Chapel of the year in the Small Gym last week with worship by Mr. Lawrenz, Mr. Hoover, and Ms. Oliver. Parents of 8th graders were invited to attend as each student moving up to the Rhetoric School was presented with a personalized bible signed by faculty and staff. We celebrated the end of their time in LS with refreshments, a video slideshow, and a prayer circle around all of our 8th graders.

MEET OUR TEAM

Jillian Isabella, School Counselor

What is your role at Covenant and how long have you worked here? School Counselor and I started working at CCA in 2018.

What has been your biggest learning experience here so far? That I like teaching! I used to be terrified to talk in front of people. I remember early on getting so worked up about going to talk with Kindergarten students that I was pacing the hallway for like 25 minutes! Over my time here, I’ve not only become more confident in public speaking (inspired by our seniors and their symposium speeches), I’ve grown to enjoy teaching social emotional learning to the students.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Covenant? I love the community of people. I love interacting with the incredible students that fill our halls. I love working alongside teachers and staff that have a passion for teaching and connecting with students and one another.

Can you share a Bible verse or passage that has had a significant impact on your life or career? Scripture comes into my work often as a counselor. I try to share passages with people based on things that they are going through to remind them of God’s truth. I think the one I reference often, especially with kids and conflict is Matthew 18. Addressing people directly can be hard but it is so much better when we go directly to the person first instead of gossip, getting caught up in rumors, or festering in frustration or hurt. It’s a hard lesson but I think with practice it becomes easier to confront and accept confrontation when it is done with love, grace, and directness.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Reading, writing, watching shows, swimming, spending time with friends, and being outside.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? New Zealand is my biggest dream. It has been the place I’ve wanted to go my whole life. The country is so uniquely beautiful. After seeing the Lord of the Rings, it became the goal for traveling dreams.

Describe one way you see God’s hand in Covenant’s mission or work. I see it in my children and the people they are becoming. I absolutely credit that to the teachers, staff, and community that pours into their lives daily. I see God shaping them through lessons, music, art, friendships, and daily responsibilities.

What’s your favorite food? Tacos. All the tacos.

Who on the team inspires you the most, and why? I kept writing different names. The truth is, they all do in different ways, Amy Prichard inspires perseverance and mindfulness, Michelle Perrotta inspires joy and connection, Kristy Fitzgerald inspires quiet assurance, Christen Ashley inspires kindness and grace, Ashley Valletta inspires dedication and authenticity, Brooke Baker inspires consistency and eloquence, Sharon Covell inspires level-headedness, David Anastasi inspires action, Andrea Bergstrom inspires leadership, Warren Wegrzyn inspires exuberance and passion, Tracy Bennett inspires humility and tenacity, Kim Russell inspires faith and compassion, Robin Lawrenz inspires discipline and warmth, Josh Ulrich inspires diligence, Maya Kline inspires patience and creativity, I mean goodness I could go on and on! I’m inspired by everyone for their different gifts that come together to inspire collectively.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know? I wanted to be a writer, I sing, and I do a few good impressions including the Chipmunks, Abu, Gollum, and Bullwinkle (who kids don’t know anymore which is sad).

What’s your favorite CCA tradition or event? Highlights. I love that our teachers highlight children individually for a quality they see coming out in them. I love that they write up beautiful descriptions of what they see, how they see it displayed, and pray for their futures.

What’s your favorite book, movie, or hobby? Lord of the Rings and reading

How do you find balance between your faith, family, and work commitments? I don’t know if I’ve actually found the balance. I think with each season of life, situations can happen or challenges are presented, and these can impact the balance. Just when I think I’ve found it, I find I need to recalibrate and adjust. I think everyone is figuring out how to do the best they can with what they’ve got. I am thankful for the grace, mercy, patience, and love that comes from my family, communities, and above all God.
