SCHOOL NURSE

No Change in COVID-19 Guidelines

You may have heard in the news this past week that the CDC has dropped the five day isolation requirement after a positive COVID-19 test.  However, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has NOT changed the guidelines at this time.  Full details of the COVID-19 guidance for schools can be found HERE.

Please note we do continue to see some cases of COVID within the school community.  It’s important to notify the school nurse if your student tests positive and keep them home according to current protocol.  Feel free to contact school nurse Christen Ashley, RN at school.nurse@ccamail.org if you have any questions.

The Role of Patterns in Historical Interpretation

Senior history students have been studying the role of patterns in historical interpretation.  Part of that study involved independent research about a historian who developed an influential pattern, often still in use today.  In addition to a more conventional presentation in class, seniors had to design a board game based on their pattern of observation. This week, they created a prototype of their game and tested it on the 5th-grade students.  Overall, it was a great way for the students to have fun while developing a deeper understanding of the important role that patterns play in our understanding of history.

The first twin, Viola, falls in love with Orsino, who dotes on OIivia, who falls for Viola but is idolised by Malvolio. Enter Sebastian, who is the spitting image of his twin sister…
