The ACSI International Math Competition (IMC) is designed to celebrate and cultivate mathematical excellence worldwide. It serves as the ultimate platform for aspiring mathematicians to demonstrate their adept skills, challenge their intellectual capacity, and push the boundaries of their mathematical competency. The IMC allows students to grow in ways that honor their God-given talents, fostering a deeper appreciation for the gifts they’ve been given and a stronger sense of purpose in using them. We would like to congratulate 6th grader, Colvin Baird on advancing to the elite 3rd and final round of the competition!

Kindergarten students and teachers are thrilled to announce the successful hatching of baby chicks! Students learned about the life cycle of a chick and then began the hatching journey by carefully placing the eggs into an incubator, nurturing them, and waiting “patiently” for 21 days until they hatched. What an amazing experience to watch and learn about this great miracle!

Abbagail Herwing, Grammar School Faculty, PreK
What is your role at Covenant and how long have you worked here? I have the pleasure of teaching Pre-Kindergarten with Mrs. Krissy Davey. I have worked at Covenant for 4 years.
What has been your biggest learning experience here so far? Work can be a place of peace, love, and much joy when Jesus is invited and allowed to be at the center of it all.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Covenant? I love that I am challenged daily to seek the Lord in all that I do. I love that while I am working to best serve my Pre-Kindergarten class, my children are also being poured into and loved in their own respective classes.
Can you share a Bible verse or passage that has had a significant impact on your life or career? Proverbs 31 – as I long to be obedient and trust in our loving God, to best serve my family and all those I work with, and to live with intentionality, purpose, and joy.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? I love spending time swimming, playing tennis and/or volleyball, traveling, trying new foods, and reading. My family would also say I love playing board games, doing laundry, and mowing the lawn, which is true!
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? I would LOVE to travel to Spain and specifically to Barcelona to marvel at the beaches or Greece to learn more about the richness of culture and history, beauty of the landscape and climate, and to try the cuisine.
Describe one way you see God’s hand in Covenant’s mission or work. The way students, staff, and families are cared for by one another during all the seasons of our lives. Whether we are celebrating each other’s strengths through observations and highlights or supporting one another through life’s really challenging battles, there is such a depth of care and love for another that is unmatched. It is nothing shy of beautiful!
What’s your favorite food? I love salad of all types but I also love moon drop grapes.
Who on the team inspires you the most, and why? I am SO inspired by all of the grammar school teachers. Each person on the team brings their own unique strengths and treasures and it is so exciting to be a part of as a colleague and parent here.
What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know? I lived in four big cities before moving to the North Shore of Boston.
What’s your favorite CCA tradition or event? It would either be the International Festival or Pre-Kindergarten Christmas Chapel. It’s a tie!
What’s your favorite book, movie, or hobby? I love to read! I especially love reading biographies. I finished reading Michael Jordan’s biography over Christmas break and am working through Jimmy Carter’s and Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s now.
How do you find balance between your faith, family, and work commitments? My husband, Frank and children help me find the necessary work-life balance.
Is there anything else you’d like the community to know about you? I’m so grateful to be a part of the CCA community and love that my entire family gets to learn, grow, and engage in all that CCA has to offer alongside all of you. |
