Our next Covenant Commentary, Executive Functioning: Breaking it Down, will be held on Friday, April 26th during the Covenant Parent Connection meeting at 8:45 am.
What is Executive Functioning? How does it relate to child development? Are we born with these skills? Why do executive function difficulties become more prevalent in middle and high school? USLR Director of Academic Support Jennifer McKernan will explain six key executive function processes, dispel popular misconceptions, and share methods you can employ to build your child’s executive function skills.

Senior Thesis SymposiumFriday, April 12th | 8:15 am – 2:05 pm | PAAC and Small Gym
The Senior Thesis Project at Covenant Christian Academy is the culmination of our students’ Classical Education. After writing a fifteen-page research essay on a topic of their choosing, each senior must present and defend his or her argument in front of the Upper School, along with a panel of faculty members and outside experts. The Thesis Project demands the scholarly depth, expert rhetoric, and personal confidence that are essential to our students’ success in collegiate studies and professional life.
On Friday, April 12th, all members of the CCA community are welcome and invited to attend the Senior Thesis Symposium. Consider spending the day with us! See the email sent on Monday from Tracy Bennett for the full schedule and more information.
Questions about Senior Thesis and Symposium Day may be directed to USLR Dean of Academics, Tracy Bennett at tracy.bennett@ccamail.org. |
“Identity Crisis” Movie ScreeningFriday, April 26th | 6:00–9:00 pm | CCA Small Gym
Attention all 6th–12th grade girls!
You’re invited to an exclusive FREE movie screening of the award-winning “Identity Crisis.” This fun, faith-based family comedy follows a smart but overly shy college girl named Madison. Madison is a bookworm who chooses to constantly study or work in her college library rather than socialize. However, she encounters all sorts of comical problems when she creates her clone, who is everything she’s not.
Following the viewing, the film’s writer and producer, Andrea Polnaszek, a licensed clinical social worker, will share her journey into filmmaking and emphasize the film’s message on the importance of discerning who God says we are versus the broader culture. Don’t miss this unique and fun-filled opportunity to connect with peers, watch a fun film, and engage in a discussion with a talented filmmaker!
Check out the trailer here.
This is a free event but space is limited and pre-registration is required. Click here to reserve your spot! |
