Please note that if you have sent the picture and information to Lisa Coleman in the past, you do not need to send it again. |
An Evening of GratitudePlease mark your calendars and plan to join us as we host Covenant’s Evening of Gratitude for you, our Covenant family, on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Olio (Peabody).

Planning is underway, so stay tuned for more details in the new year.

Scooter Relay Grand Prix
Houses faced off in CCA’s first ever Scooter Relay Grand Prix for Community on Friday. Each house chose eight students to represent them in a scooter board relay race that zipped through the upper school hallways. These eight students formed four pairs (one pushing and one sitting) each of which was responsible for completing one lap in this relay race. Everyone else lined the halls and cheered on their classmates as they zoomed, slid, skidded, and bumped their way through the course. It was a smashing success—literally and figuratively. Bojaxhiu came in first place followed by Ten Boom in second, King in third, and Wilberforce in fourth. Click here for a full gallery of photos and videos.

Cougar Round Up!
Boys Varsity Soccer:
10/17: The CCA boys played a beautiful game versus Waring with a final score of 5-2. In the first half of the game, the team started out very strong, with Ethan Velasquez-Perdomo scoring his first goal in the first 15 minutes of the game. The team played mainly on the offensive side, allowing them to gain another goal, scored by Ethan. To wrap up the 1st half, Isaac Portugal scored an impressive goal, ending the 1st half with a score of 3-0. Waring came into the second half trying to make a comeback, and scored their first goal straight away, however, the Cougars responded with the same intensity, as Jacob Libby scored. Jacob then scored again with an assist from Isaac. Waring then scored their second goal, however it was not enough to defeat CCA. The boys ended the game in a decisive victory of 5-2 over Waring.
Girls Varsity Soccer:
1/18: The girls started the game slow but started the second half strong. They built up their courage and played to the covenant standard. They dominated the second half taking almost 15 shots. The girls worked hard and showed their effort and desire to win! I’m very proud of them for all their hard work! Final score 1-0. Goal scored by Liza Minogue.
10/20: The girls had a 3-0 win against Penguin Hall. Greta Baird nailed a goal over the goalies from a pass back from Liza Minogue to start it off. Liza added two other goals in the second half with an assist from Haley Nelson! 8th graders Marie, Sam, and Marina all contributed to the victory!
Girls Varsity Volleyball:
10/17: The Varsity team traveled to Cambridge School of Weston on Tuesday, and they lost their match in straight sets. They were able to build good leads in each of the first two sets behind the strong serving of Riley Baird and Fiona Moll, but they were unable to finish the job in either of those sets, and in the third set the girls seemed to run out of gas. They were led on attack by Julia Ray and Leanna Rothier, who each had 4 kills. Ella Chewning and Fiona Moll each had several digs on defense.
10/19: The Varsity girls traveled to Marie Philip on Thursday and won a five-set thriller: 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 20-25, 15-13. The girls were firmly in control of the match through two sets, but a combination of strong serving from Marie Philip and uncharacteristic mental errors from our team allowed our opponent back into the match. In the decisive 5th set, hope almost seemed lost when the Cougars found themselves down 13-8… but up stepped Fernanda Silva-Fernandes to the service line, and she served 7 consecutive points to win the match. Overall, it was a team win, and in the midst of some adversity it was a great display of grit and perseverance under pressure.
Varsity Cross Country:
10/19: The Varsity Girls Cross Country Team raced against 11 other schools at Gann Academy. The team scored 6th in a very competitive field! Senior Victoria Gladden ran 39 seconds faster than she did last year on this course, and Freshman Beatrice Kline ran 14 seconds faster than last year! Junior Ally Hall broke 30 minutes in the 5k for the first time, with a time of 29:48!
Official Results: Nora Robinson: 26:07 (14th); Beatrice Kline: 28:11 (30th); Lily Stuart: 28:40.55 (34th); Ally Hall: 29:48 (43rd); Elle Blosser: 30:17 (47th); Victoria Gladden: 31:46 (51st).
Boys JV Soccer:
10/18: JV Boys Soccer won its last game of the season today wrapping up an UNDEFEATED campaign. The boys played well against Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall in a 4-0 game. The team controlled the ball at midfield, keeping pressure on the opposing defense throughout. They earned a slew of corners and both Jacob Williamson and Caleb Hoeman showcased their ability to serve the ball into the box. The boys continue to improve in passing the ball into space with numerous good volleys, especially by Nick DeJesus and Nico Mason. On the attacking side of the ball Alexander Sands, Oscar Hinojosa and Zeke Belote were relentless in chasing after opportunities, with numerous close shots. In the defensive end, Christian Moll, Kyle Badaro, Jacob Williamson, and Colin Moll shut down most of the developing attacks and did not allow an uncontested shot. Davi Silva was our utility man, playing four different positions to create breaks for teammates. Jacob Chewning had another shutout, but few opportunities to shine. Nico Mason scored our first goal on a cross from Alexander Sands. Alex then went on to score our next three goals, earning a hat trick. Nick DeJesus had an assist on one goal with a beautiful give and go pass with Alex. The boys had a fitting end to a great season.
Girls JV Volleyball:
10/17: The Girls JV Volleyball team traveled to Cambridge School of Weston on Tuesday, and they ran into a stiff challenge. The girls lost in straight sets. They played well through a number of good, long rallies against CSW. The Cougars were led by the solid play of Mackenzie Curtis, Lydia Choi, and Allie Freedman, who each made several positive plays on defense and from behind the service line.
Girls Middle School Soccer:
10/19: What a great game for the Girls Middle School Soccer team against Austin Prep! The final score 1:1 does not demonstrate the number of fantastic shots taken by our incredible offense. Marina S. (8th) scored for CCA in the second half and the crowd went wild! Congratulations girls on a great game! The girls have their last game at 3:30pm this Tuesday, October 12th against LCA on our home fields–come cheer them on!
Middle School Cross Country:
10/19: the Middle School Cross Country Team raced against Lexington Christian Academy and Landmark School at LCA’s 2 mile course. Drew had a strong lead for most of the race, and unfortunately took a wrong turn in the woods, affecting his finishing place. He maintained a positive attitude despite a frustrating situation! Braylan ran an impressive 9 second PR (personal record), and Rachel rounded out the squad with a great race, too!
Official Results: Braylan F: 15:21 (11th); Drew M: 16:02 (14th); Rachel B: 17:24 (18th).
